Annual subs to new Sportsnet magazine from Rogers may sell for $1.50 an issue

We are learning a bit more about Rogers Publishing's new Sportsnet magazine, to be launched in the fall. For one thing, the price point. 
An online survey being conducted now suggests that a single copy price may be $4.95, a one-year, 26-issue subscription could be $39 (about $1.50 per issue) and a monthly subscription available to Rogers Advantage customers could be discounted 10% to $3 a month

U.S. Q1 newsstand sales reported to be down almost 6% from Q1 last year

Not one, not two, but three covers on Toronto Life June


 Newsstands that carry Toronto Life will be receiving one of three covers of the June issue, which goes on sale May 12. An equal number of copies of the three different covers will be shipped at random. This is a first for the magazine. The cover subjects are

Mind my back; Men's Fashion in polybag makes Fashion invisible

I note that on my local Shoppers Drug Mart rack, the current (spring) issue of Men's Fashion, polybagged with its parent, Fashion magazine, is strongly evident. The two magazines are back-to-back in the bag, which means that May issue of Fashion magazine is facing the rack, completely hidden. I'm somehow sure that this wasn't the intention...

Major U.S. newsstand distributor tacks on a $50 monthly "service charge"

Subscription skidmarks longer in Canada than U.S., but single copy sales do better: ABC

A follow-up on yesterday's report on ABC 6-month data: Canadian consumer magazines' total paid and verified circulation fell 4.03%, compared with a 1.2% drop in the U.S. 
Subscription sales in Canada fell 5.9%, compared with 1.2% in the U.S.

Rogers titles show strongly in single copy sales in latest ABC circulation data

Latest Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) six-month data ended December 31, 2010 shows that several magazines have enjoyed double-digit growth in total paid and verified average per issue circulation.
Big gainers among consumer magazines:Montreal Centre-Ville, up 98.3% to 3,888 (also 38,544 controlled)

New European magazine kiosks will feature preview touch screens

Pushing back against the erosion of single copy magazine sales and the closing of many newsstands in Europe, a leading shopping mall owner will be launching a new kind of  sales outlet, according to a story from  lesaffaires.com. Cappel's Circulation to be merged into The New Single Copy

One well-known circulation newsletter, Capell's Circulation Report, is being merged into another, The New Single Copy, published by John Harrington. According to a story in Audience Development, Capell subscribers will now receive The New Single Copy. CCR published 20 times a year; TNSC publishes weekly (45 times a year) and costs subscribers US$425 annually.
