Rogers media division sees 9-month profit drop of 34%
Rogers Communications media holdings, which include the company's magazines (both consumer and trade) but also broadcasting and the Toronto Blue Jays baseball club, saw a fall in operating revenue of $22 million (about 6%) in the three months ending September 30. Rogers media division projecting 4% to 10% decline in earnings
Rogers Communications Inc. is forecasting that its media division, including its major consumer and trade magazine properties, TV stations and Toronto Blue Jays, will see a decline earnings this year from 4 to 10%, driven by continuing weaknesses in advertising. Rogers Media, including mags, see 73% profit drop in Q1 2009
Rogers Media, which encompasses Rogers Publishing, saw a 73% drop in operating profit and a 7% drop in operating revenue in the first three months of 2009, according to figures released by the company. Hello! crests 180,000 circulation a month; average 45,000 a week
