The 106-year-old H & G, which once boldly bestrode the industry and which has a circulation of nearly a million, will cease publication after its December issue and lay off its staff, it was announced today by Charles H. Townsend, the president of Condé Nast. In an unusual move, the magazine's website is also being closed down. “House & Garden
